GreenFire Energy technology improves the profit and ROI of both existing and new geothermal projects.
For existing wells and fields, GreenFire’s GreenLoop increases profit with low risk by extracting significantly more energy. GreenLoop can also produce power from some depleted hot oil and gas wells making underutilized assets into productive ones. New “greenfield” projects also benefit from GreenLoop’s modular, closed-loop architecture that dramatically reduces the time to revenue.
GreenFire Energy power generation solutions are tailored to meet your requirements while using existing wells, fields, and infrastructure to maximum effect. Each solution starts with advanced GreenLoop Modeling to select and optimize one of multiple GreenLoop Designs for the specific geothermal resource. The resulting design is then deployed by GreenFire and its strategic partners, working in collaboration, to offer a full spectrum of project capabilities. See GreenLoop Modeling, GreenLoop Design, and GreenLoop Capabilities for more information.

Geothermal Well Retrofit Solution
This innovative solution optimizes geothermal power production for existing wells and geothermal resources. The solution leverages existing wells, infrastructure, concessions, permits, and transmission investments. No drilling and other large costs are required which results in a 6-month project time, low CapEx per MW, and high ROI.
The Geothermal Well Retrofit Solution is tailored for the specific well and geothermal resource condition. GreenLoop Modeling analyzes the enthalpy, diameter, depth, brine and flow characteristics of a well to determine the GreenLoop Design that will optimize power generation for the well.
Geothermal companies use the Geothermal Well Retrofit as an initial project in a planned series of GreenLoop expansion projects to significantly increase power generation. In approximately 6 months, this solution will validate the effectiveness GreenLoop technology in the geothermal resource and provide important data for expansion projects.

Expansion Within Field
This solution boosts production from existing fields and is often used to expand production from pressure- or water-depleted fields. The solution makes geothermal projects scalable. This solution leverages existing wells, infrastructure, concessions, permits, and transmission investments which significantly reduce the risks and costs of drilling new wells. Modeling of the existing wells and resources ensures predictable performance and improved profitability and high ROI. The solution enables power generation to be cost competitive with other renewable technologies.
The Expansion Within Field Solution with the GreenLoop Designs Steam GreenLoop or 2-Phase GreenLoop was developed to address the problem of pressure- and water-constrained geothermal resources. Geothermal resources may experience pressure or water decline over time resulting in lower production. The GreenLoop Designs for this solution are for steam and 2-phase resources and extract heat rather than mass, thereby conserving water and maintaining pressure in the geothermal resources. The long term sustainability of the geothermal resource is supported.
Greenfield Projects
This solution is for the development of new wells in new geothermal resources. The Greenfield Projects solution extracts only heat and no process water is used. Only conductive heat transfer occurs but convection will improve performance. GreenLoop Modeling and analysis performed on the geothermal resource will determine the GreenLoop Design, working fluids, architecture, and other aspects of the design. This solution has a small footprint and has low exploration and development risks.

Oil and Gas Well Repurposing Solution
This solution uses GreenLoop technology to use abandoned oil and gas wells to produce geothermal energy. The solution is tailored to the specifics of the oil and gas well and the geothermal resource. GreenLoop Modeling determines the techno-economic feasibility and provides data for the GreenLoop Design. See GreenFire Energy to discuss the retrofit of your oil and gas wells.
De-Risk Conventional Projects
Drilling conventional geothermal wells is a high-risk process. In case a conventional well fails to produce as planned, a GreenLoop Down Bore Heat Exchanger can often be inserted into the failed well to generate power. In this way, GreenLoop technology acts as a backup plan for conventional projects.
Power Generation GreenLoop Designs
A design is an implementation of GreenLoop architecture engineered for a particular resource. GreenLoop Designs include a Downbore Heat Exchanger (DBHX) to obtain and transport the heat. A Surface Heat Exchanger (SHX) such as reboiler, ORC, and cooling is available.
