Plug and Play and GreenFire Energy Inc. announced today that GreenFire Energy Inc. has been accepted into Plug and Play’s Energy & Sustainability Program Batch 2. Twenty-four startups were selected for the Energy & Sustainability Program, part of the total 156 startups selected across 8 industry and technology cohorts in the Summer 2018 Batches. The acceptance rate across all programs was less than 2%.

Plug and Play’s three-month program focuses on business development, giving companies the opportunity to engage with corporate partners to secure pilots, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and investments. There are over 220 corporate partners in the network. After three months, the companies will graduate into Plug and Play’s global ecosystem and participate in the community through deal flow and events. The technologies represented in the program included renewable energy, artificial intelligence, IoT, robotics, and other advanced technologies. GreenFire Energy Inc. is the only geothermal renewable energy company in the program.

“We are delighted to have GreenFire Energy in our ecosystem and look forward to facilitate industry connections and VC introductions that are aligned with their go to market strategy,” said Wade Bitaraf, Founder of Energy & Sustainability practice at Plug and Play. “We invite all the corporations and startups interested in the energy value chain to join our global innovation programs.”
