GreenFire Energy Inc. today announced that Joseph Scherer, CEO, GreenFire Energy Inc. will be speaking at GEOLAC 2021, the 8th Geothermal Congress for Latin America and the Caribbean, being held virtually on September 8-10, 2021. Scherer will be part of a live panel discussion with other tech leaders on “What trends and technologies are driving the geothermal industry in Latin America and the Caribbean?”
GEOLAC 2021 is co-hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank, and ESMAP, and is focused on driving the development of world-class geothermal projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. There is geothermal potential in the region of between 50-70 GW power and it is mostly untapped, according to an Inter-American Development Bank report.1 With so much potential and the ability to decarbonize the region, the conference will discuss the challenges facing the industry, showcase national projects and initiatives, and explore opportunities for new partnerships and programs. The conference will host leaders from tech companies including GreenFire Energy Inc. to discuss tech trends and explore the potential implications for the LAC geothermal market. The panel will discuss important topics such as how tech can increase scalability of geothermal and change the game to make geothermal more appealing to investors.
