Who we are looking for:

As the Director of Marketing you are responsible for defining, prioritizing, and driving GreenFire Energy’s marketing strategy to achieve the company’s business goals. You will lead the company’s messaging and brand strategy programs to build a strong presence in the market. You are an expert in B2B marketing writing and can produce press releases, content for the website, newsletters, and collateral. Your focus is to engage sales prospects to drive sales opportunities to sales closure.

As a hands-on marketer, you will oversee a B2B marketing function that includes messaging, communications, sales enablement, lead generation and engagement, digital marketing, content marketing, and trade shows. You will collaborate with business development, technical, and other teams to achieve marketing and sales goals. You are adept with digital tools, you will be responsible for managing contacts in the CRM (Copper), outbound email through marketing automation (MailChimp), and be knowledgeable with other marketing tools.

The position is in-person at GreenFire Energy’s Walnut Creek, CA office.

Essential job functions include:

  • Marketing strategy. Develop and implement the marketing plan and budget that aligns with the company’s business goals. Track goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Messaging and communications. Craft the company messaging that resonates with target audiences and execute the messaging across company communications channels including the website, public relations, and sales enablement materials.
  • Sales enablement. Create compelling sales enablement materials on GreenFire Energy (collateral, presentations, video) and thought leadership content (newsletter, and industry articles).
  • Lead generation and engagement. Drive demand across multiple channels through trade shows, PR, and digital programs. Engage prospects in the sales funnel to drive sales opportunities to closure.
  • Press releases. Write company and joint press releases with customers and distribute them to key media.
  • Digital marketing. Deliver lead generation and engagement programs through online and social channels.
  • Content marketing. Deliver thought leadership content through newsletters, articles, and blogs.
  • Trade shows and events. Coordinate trade show, speaker presentations, field trips to geothermal sites, and other prospect and customer programs.
  • Collaboration. Work closely with business development, country representatives, and partners, to align the marketing strategy with sales revenue goals.
  • Market research: Track the strengths and weaknesses of competing firms and collect industry information to formulate effective marketing campaigns.
  • Analyst relations. Identify and schedule regular communications with industry analysts to provide company overviews and industry insights.

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience in the energy field or a related field.
  • B2B marketing experience with the ability to translate strategic vision into actionable marketing strategies and marketing programs that drives lead and prospect engagement that drives sales opportunities to closure.
  • Energy industry knowledge of geothermal, renewable energy, and oil and gas.
  • Marketing writing experience of press releases, collateral, messaging, and articles.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Adept in CRM and marketing automation tools.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress templates to update website.
  • Ability to manage consultants and partners.

  • In addition to your base salary, you will receive approximately 20% of your base salary in stock options.
